The apartment is located on the top floor of a building located in the north-eastern part of the city of Bologna, in the Cyrenaica area. The intervention aims to make the distribution of the rooms more functional through the construction and demolition of internal partitions, as well as the positioning of an internal vertical connection. In fact, a portion of the attic that appeared to be unused was incorporated into the apartment. In this way, the living room has been transformed into a double-height volume while a portion of the sloping roof in correspondence with the dining room has been demolished in order to insert a panoramic terrace. The real protagonist of the entire project is the connecting element between the two floors positioned close to the wall that divides the living room and the dining room. It is a wooden element that performs a dual function: in addition to acting as a staircase, it is also used as an equipped wall in the kitchen.
